You just can't make this up. FBI director Kash Patel apparently got drunk repeatedly, and this impaired his involvement in "several" investigations. He threated a lawsuit if the publication made this public, and then sued when they released the story anyway. He lost.

I think that maybe the CBP should detain and search this Kash Patel fellow the next time he returns from an international trip. He sounds like a dangerous loose cannon.

In all seriousness the "defamation" isn't that bad. So he liked to party. It just makes him took human, if anything. Was he "on the clock" when he got wasted? Was this after-hours? That would be more important IMO.

Well that's true; but there's still the non-zero chance that fuck-ups just like that are what caused me to be detained, despite there being no justification for it. Even *if* the FBI, once upon a time, had a reason to watch me, that should have been fully satisfied years ago. It's preposterous.

What if I went on a vacation two years from now? Ten? Thirty? Would I have been detained then??? The FBI will have to pay, through legal and administrative means that is.
