really want to use qubes but ill just wait and run that on a thinkpad but in the meanwhile i need a os for security while being able to run games so no vms sadly

Use a Linux distro you enjoy like artix or smth

you dont need opsec while gaming.
 
not really a great combination.

dual boot ideally on separate drives.
or better yet just separate devices.
